What I Wore – April & May 2016 Round Up

I’m going to do an abbreviated version of this What I Wore post since we’re already in June and just highlight the items I’m wearing that are still available to purchase or if there’s a newer version of the item out in the stores now.

I can’t specifically say why I haven’t gotten this post out sooner other then life had me busy and I wasn’t feeling very inspired on top of that. Some days I’ve just felt beat by the time I’m done cleaning up dinner and the only thing I wanted to do is go veg on the couch and watch some reality TV. I wish I could always power through when I am feeling this way and get a blog post out but I have reminded myself that this wee little blog is a HOBBY NOT A JOB. Meaning, it shouldn’t cause me stress.  So if you ever wonder why there are random lags in posts, there’s nothing crazy going on, it’s just what I mentioned above.

In any case, let’s get to the clothes!

Mother’s Day with my girls- Shirt | Jeans | Necklace #1 | Necklace #2

Me with my mother on Mother’s Day

1st day in Charleston: Shorts – mine are from J.Crew last summer but basically, this Factory version seem almost identical (I even bought a pair from the Factory store recently) | Sandals | Bracelet Fringe Necklace | Tank – Can’t find a good link but I purchased it recently from a local boutique. It’s the Feel the Piece Terrific Tank. Amazingly soft and perfect racerback style.

1st night’s dinner in Charleston – Purse | Jeans

2nd day in Charleston – Shorts | Tank – new version or at least very similar | Shoes | Bracelet | Purse

2nd Night in Charleston: Dress – last year Athleta so similar version without sleeves | Shoes | Necklace

Last school event with my younger daughter: Top | Shoes

Date Night: Lilly Pulitzer Elsa Top – This top is a “staple” of Lilly Pulitzer. It comes in a dozen different colors or prints. You can always do a search to find it by typing “Lilly Pulitzer Elsa.” Mine was purchased 2 Spring’s ago but pretty sure this color is still around. BTW, this top is as preppy as I get! 😉

Meeting a girlfriend for lunch – Necklace | Bracelet | Shoes |

Cool weather on a boring errand day: Shoes | Jeans

At the gym (or in the lockerroom there): TopLeggings – These are from Ivivva, which if you aren’t familiar is the younger girls clothing line from Lululemon. A friend tipped me off that I should try them because they are cheaper and good for petite gals like myself.  Note: I am wearing an XL in them. My Take: They are super comfortable like regular Lululemon crops but a little softer and could have been a little snugger in the waist. I think if I’d gone down a size they wouldn’t have been flattering in the waistband. So wondering if the waistband is different on purpose between the women and girls.

Top – Spring purchase but can’t find this version so I linked to similar | Pants – new version |  Shoes

Headed to the gym: Tank

Parent Volunteer Brunch at School: Romper |  Shoes – my feet are small enough to fit into the kids sizes (women’s 5 = girls 3)| Necklace (Nothing like a good selfie next to the car. ha!)

Errands: Tank | Shoes | Necklace (sorry the lighting was so awful in this pic, ran out of time to try to get a better one)

Saturday errands with the family: Shorts – New Version (I realize these are a little tight, last summer vs. this summer, oh well) | Necklace | Shoes

Memorial Day BBQ: Sandals | Shorts – new version

You can definitely see which new pieces I am getting the most wear out of so far…..ahem…..a certain pair of Toms sandals and a certain necklace from Stella & Dot perhaps??

Happy shopping!
