So, I’m a bit re-energized from all that shopping (hehe) and wanted to highlight some more items from the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale I didn’t get to in Friday’s post (see it here). Sorry this post doesn’t have many pictures. I only took the few that were in that post and otherwise, I’ve mostly shopped online and well, the packages haven’t arrived yet. Yes, packages because there was more then 1 online order of course. Ha!
First, I want to mention this hair dryer by T3. I decided to finally take the plunge on an expensive hair dryer because I’d heard they were really worth it for cutting down the time it takes to dry your hair. I mean I already spend the money on a straightner (I have a T3 one as well) so why not spend it on a hair dryer. So, I placed an order Thursday night for the hair dryer, the Vince sweater I mentioned in Friday’s post, and this pair of Steve Madden kids slip on shoes for my daughter (she picked the pewter). Then, I went back in to the store Friday and ordered the hair dryer because they were out of it in the store. TOTALLY forgetting I ordered it the previous night. That’s how tired I must have been! #shoppingproblems
Anyway, here are more picks from both in the store and looking online, but mostly looking online:
Purses/Handbags – This Rebecca Minkoff purse seems to exemplify what will be on trend for Fall, meaning suede and rusty colors. There’s also a saddlebag version here. I really liked this mini Rebecca Minkoff saddlebag, this budget-friendly Sole Society saddlebag (it’s currently sitting in my “wish list”) and this Frye crossbody bag. If structured bags are your thing, this Kate Spade one in the wine color is really pretty for Fall. What I Bought: Nothing yet. Seriously considering the Rebecca Minkoff mini saddlebag.
Coats/Jackets – Big fan of this T Tahari coat, especially the faux fur trim (in my “wish list”). If metallic puffer coats are your thing, then consider this Laundry by Shelli Segal coat. If you’re just looking for a practical coat, this sale is the perfect time to get a The North Face coat and this classic primaloft one will last many years. Also, classic, is this Tahari belted wrap wool coat. This utility vest is a great price and very on trend for the Fall. LOVE this sporty raincoat from The North Face or this Zella version. My mom tried this sweater coat on and I was pleasantly surprised by it. Oh, by the way, if I had no budget, this beautiful leather jacket would be sitting in my closet (cute faux version here). I saw it in person and I had to tell myself to just walk away. What I Bought: Haven’t purchased any coats other then the Blanknyc one the first day because honestly, I already have a lot that are similar to what are included in the sale. My mom did buy the sweater coat.
Girls Clothes/Shoes (I have 2 daughters who are about 5 and 7 so I’m no good on boys clothes) – Both of my daughters are dying for high top sneakers. You can’t go wrong with this pair from Skechers. Also, it’s a great time to buy a pair of Zella leggings for your little girl and this Tucker and Tate jean jacket is a simple “Yes, please.” (I secretly loved this one but knew it wasn’t my daughter’s style). If you have a daughter that occasionally likes to be a Mini-Me, she’ll love this pair of distressed jeans from Joe’s (My 7 yr old was devastated that these were too big on her slim frame). And just for pure cuteness, I got this tee for my younger daughter. It’s not her style anymore (sadly) but I really like the sweetness of this dress and how it mixes dressed up and casual together. What I Bought: The tee I mention for my younger daughter, the Skechers high tops and the jean jacket for my older daughter, and they each got a pair of Zella leggings.
Lounge/PJ/Undergarments – If you’re fan of Hanky Panky, it’s always a good time to stock up on their signature thongs (the boy shorts are pretty great, too). If you’re fan of regular underwear, the Natori ‘Bliss Perfection’ are the way to go. And I always say buying a bra can be the most un-fun thing to buy but for practical purposes, this sale is the best time to get one. Personally, I wear Natori and this is a good everyday one to have and the ‘Feathers’ style is flattering on every body type plus it has a bit more sex appeal. For PJ’s (my secret favorite clothes to buy) I love this comfy long sleeve Honeydew top in any of the prints (I got the camo one at the sale last year and wear it all the time). And you’ll want this Barefoot Dreams ‘Circle’ Cardigan in your closet whether it’s to wear as a “house coat” (which is how I wear constantly when I’m at home in the winter) or just to throw on to go out, it is AMAZINGLY soft. If jogger pants aren’t your style (love these), then PJ Salvage makes the softest pants in fun prints. What I Bought: The Natori underwear (hopefully not TMI but I wear thongs during the day and regular bikini underwear or boy shorts to sleep in), the Barefoot Dreams cardigan, and the jogger lounge pants.
Tops – This category is, in my opinion, a tough one to cover because it’s so vast. There are a ton of plaid shirts included in the sale and some other shirt/blouses but I’m going to skip highlighting them because I wanted to focus more on what I felt was “new.” I mentioned a cold shoulder top in Friday’s post but then I found online a version without the turtleneck here. This Caslon top/sweater caught my eye online. Could be perfect for throwing on and going. If the price point of the Autumn Cashmere sweater isn’t in your budget, then this Nordstrom Collection one is a good option. I thought this sweater from Topshop was kind of fun. Free People isn’t really my style and the tops are often gigantic on my petite frame but since I know a lot of people love their clothes, I wanted to make sure I mentioned that I was a fan of this top and this one. Also, kind of like this thermal. For blouses, this one and this one are my favorites, although the latter isn’t very budget friendly. Lastly, I know long cardigans are very popular so this BP version could be a good one to snag. What I Bought: The cold shoulder top without the turtleneck, the Autumn Cashmere sweater, and likely to buy the Caslon top.
Jeans – So many more online then in my local store! Besides this Rag & Bone/Jean pair (fit TTS when I tried them on in the store), online there is this black pair by Hudson, this pair of Blanknyc, and this pair of J Brand that are all good options. What I Bought: Almost bought the Rag & Bone/Jean pair but passed and went with this pair of Blanknyc for now.
Back to Shoes – I saw this pair of open-toed booties online and I think are really pretty. I am in the market for some new tall boots and I like this Via Spiga pair and this pair. Forgot about this pair of lace up Halogen flats I saw in the store, they are super cute. This BP Bootie is a great price point and comes in a bunch of colors. I don’t really have a need for these Sperry Duck Boots but they are cute. Maybe I’ll find a use for them?? Wasn’t that excited about sneakers but could be because I’m not in the market for a pair. I’ve seen these Asics in the store for awhile now but it’s nice that they’re a part of the sale now. I am a fan of both the blue and grey versions. If you’re a big spender on shoes, this Rag & Bone bootie is perfection (It also comes in this color). What I Bought: The Via Spiga bootie I mentioned in Friday’s post. Still considering the Cole Haan Zero Grand Sneaker.
Jewelry/Accessories: I’m not much into poncho’s but this Treasure and Bond one looks perfect for a cool Fall evening. This BP Scarf is a great price and the perfect plaid. I’ll be honest, I was most disappointed in the jewelry selection this year. These Gorjana bracelets are cute. If I wasn’t already over adjustable bracelets, I’d buy them. My teeny wrist doesn’t work for this Kendra Scott cuff but I saw it in person on someone and it looked amazing. Lastly, these Nadri earrings look quite interesting! What I Bought: Nothing. Subject to change before the sale ends though.
All this talk of shopping has me exhausted……I’m sure there are many, many more items I’ve missed. And items I’ll change my mind about and return later or new ones I discover before the sale is over. That’s the beauty of this sale – it lasts long enough to change your mind and change it again. Ha! Sale opens to all people July 22nd and runs through August 7th.
