Hi again. Sorry I didn’t get to post more of my picks from the Nordstrom sale yesterday but I have them today. Ha! These picks are from both in the store and looking online.
Purses/Handbags – I really am not in the market for a new purse so I didn’t spend too much time in this department. And honestly, I didn’t see that many that had me swooning. I did like 2 Rebecca Minkoff bags. The first one below (in black), is a hobo style and a great option because it’s really versatile with the dual strap. The long strap can be removed. I currently use this tote and they have an updated version of it included in the sale. Both are similar in that they are pebbled leather (which I’m a fan of), light weight and fit a lot. This new version though, unlike mine, has a zipper and front pocket. There is also a version of the hobo that comes in suede – see it here. Meanwhile, I was distracted with the pretty purple one in the bottom picture (Oddly, I’m not seeing the purple version online, wonder if that means it’s sold out already). It’s a little small for what I need for an evening out but if you don’t need glasses to drive at night like I do, I’d go for it because the color is really pretty! I also know that people that love Madewell totes so if you’ve been considering one, this is a good time to get it! Also, for Tory Burch lovers, I’d go for this one because it’s a classic tote style. And last, for those backpack lovers, again, Rebecca Minkoff has a great option here. If metallic isn’t your thing, there is a regular leather version here, it’s just not a part of the sale. Unless there was one that is also sold out and so not showing up online…..
Coats/Jackets – So far, all I have bought is the North Face fleece seen below here. See Thursday’s post here for more about it. Also, spotted was this option that is a real leather jacket by Halogen and one by Topshop and a good faux leather version to consider is this one, by Blanknyc. Or, if you want to splurge, go for this one by Mackage. This ruffle hem military coat by Free People is adorable for a Fall day.
Girls Clothes/Shoes (I have 2 daughters who are about 6 and 9 so I’m no good on boys clothes) – I’m finding that the Anniversary sale is a good time to get the girls athletic clothes since they tend to be on the more expensive side when they’re not on sale. In the category of athletic clothes is the Zella legging. It comes in a bunch of patterns and prints this year, my favorite being the ombre style and this pattern. There was a cute hooded tee and long sleeve tee that coordinated with the different patterns. Surprisingly, this year there were so many options for jeans for big girls (i.e. size 7-14, which my older daughter just makes it into since she’s small for her age and quite thin). My favorite was this pair by AG that I’m still considering for my older daughter. They’re a bit expensive for how often she wears jeans but since the style is very skinny, they may fit her well. I thought this tee and this tee were great options as well in general. Both of my daughters are dying for high top sneakers. You can’t go wrong with this pair from Steve Madden or this pair by Skechers for the younger girls. The sparkly Pumas are still popular and as my older daughter likes to point out, they don’t have mesh toes like other sneakers making them a good option to wear when it rains. #shessowise. I liked this style of the Pumas as well just not the color.
Lounge/PJ/Undergarments – If you’re fan of Hanky Panky, it’s always a good time to stock up on their signature thongs (the boy shorts are pretty great, too). If you’re fan of regular underwear, the Natori ‘Bliss’ are the way to go. And I always say buying a bra can be the most un-fun thing to buy but for practical purposes, this sale is the best time to get one. Personally, I wear Natori and this is a good everyday one to have and the ‘Feathers’ style is flattering on every body type plus it has a bit more sex appeal. For PJ’s (my secret favorite clothes to buy) I love this comfy long sleeve Make + Model top (I got the black and white-ish one last year at the sale last year and wear it all the time) and I also have the pants. And you’ll want this Barefoot Dreams ‘Circle’ Cardigan in your closet whether it’s to wear as a “house coat” (which is how I wear constantly when I’m at home in the winter) or just to throw on to go out, it is AMAZINGLY soft. I also saw these pants by Chaser online that look amazingly comfortable, similar to the Make + Model pair, and this The Laundry Room top in the store. And finally, you can’t go wrong with PJ Salvage pajamas.
That’s all I have time for unfortunately. Happy shopping!
