Favorite Gym Layering Top

Quick post today because I found myself wearing a new top again that I got recently from Athleta. When the cold temperatures start to set in, layering tops for wearing to/from the gym (and after) are key. This one I first laid eyes on at the end of the summer (if you can believe) and finally got around to buying it a month ago. Thankfully, they still had it in the stores and let me just say, it is so freakin’ soft you won’t want to take it off. The key is that it has modal in it. Anyway, it comes in a bunch of colors (black is next on my list) but I got white first to go with some of my non-black exercise capris/leggings. The price isn’t too bad either and since the top doesn’t scream “gym” you can definitely wear it with non-exercise clothes, too, and get more use out of it.

First pic I took myself, then the other 2 I was lucky enough to have a friend at the gym take for me, and last one was after I got back home. Just trying to show you how it looks on and the cute criss cross detail it has at the hem. FYI – I am actually wearing a size small in the top because I wanted it to be a little loose or I would have gone for the XS.

Dressed and almost ready to go

Wore it with a vest to the gym because it was a little cold with the wind

Ignore my laughing face - someone I knew walked by and was wondering what we were doing

Another angle

Top | Tank | Bra (wearing a hot pink strappy bra that is no longer available) – Similar | Vest (mine is an old blue one from the Gap) – Similar| Leggings (I’m wearing navy if you can’t tell) | Shoes (old colors) – new options here. Note: I was doing yoga today at the gym and wouldn’t recommend the sneakers I was wearing to do any real cardio in.

One last FYI, another similar top to the one above I got last winter is this one from Lululemon. Similar comfort and wearability. Mine is a size 4, just for reference.

Go buy it and thank me later. 🙂
