Hey there! I’m happy to say that it has finally cooled off enough here outside DC to officially break out sweaters and warmer tops. Although, the temperatures dipped way faster then I think any of us expected, I know, for me, it is a welcome change. Bring it on cold!
With the cold temperatures on my mind, I pulled together a quick post on my new favorite sweaters in my closet. Have you seen the new Target brand ‘A New Day’? It is a line of clothes in trendy new styles plus materials that I’m finding to be comfortable, soft and well made. Plus, I’m really loving some sweaters from Madewell right now, too. Read on to see what my favorites are.
Ruffle V Sweater (Left) – This reminds me of the Velvet by Graham and Spencer top I mentioned in a previous post. That one was fleece lined and $118. This one is definitely a sweater but has the same vibe. Could work for every day or dressed up for a dinner date on a cold night. Or even a family event like Thanksgiving!
Cold Shoulder Ruffle Sweater (Right) – Ruffles and could shoulder make a perfect combination for an evening out. This sweater is similar material to the Ruffle V Sweater where that it is warm but not heavy and definitely not itchy.
Embroidered Top (top right in first picture) – So this sweater isn’t a real sweater, it’s more like a thick top. I also mentioned embroidery as a popular trend in the same post as the Velvet by Graham and Spencer and linked a Madewell sweatshirt with embroidery but this version from Target is really similar! Except it’s not a sweatshirt and it has a zipper down the back to give it a little extra detail and it is $25! I must note though, I sized up from my normal XS to a Medium in this one to get the fit I wanted.
Madewell Sweater (bottom right in top picture) – Boy was this sweater hard to find in the cream! But I couldn’t resist it! I saw it in the store but decided I wasn’t ready to pull the trigger on getting it just yet. BUT, then, here I was running to the store a few days later (on a very warm day, might I add) to get it in the cream and my size (XS) after realizing that it was sold out online. Don’t get me wrong, the pink is pretty, too, I just felt the cream would go with more of my clothes. I love the details of it (fringe at the bottom) and hope that the style will last at least a few years since it’s not overly trendy.

Other similar sweaters from Madewell I saw in the store and online I like are here:
I know these sweaters will be on rotation quite a bit this Winter. As the weather continues to be cold, I will definitely do another post with other warm sweaters. But for now, happy shopping! And stay warm!
