Early Nordstrom Nsale Picks

I was lucky enough to get to Nordstrom today to shop the Nsale early access.  It has been a tradition for many years now that I am there on the first day of the sale. I blame my mom for this. Ha! Anyway, it was fun to be there today. I really do love the energy in the store the first few days and the rush from getting all these new clothes in 1 day. There’s nothing like it! Oh, it doesn’t hurt either that my birthday is a week away. #birthdaypresents

That being said, let’s get to the good stuff. I like to preface my shopping habits by saying that I really try to be AS practical as possible when deciding what I buy because otherwise the spending can get totally out of control. Especially when you’re shopping for kids and/or a husband as well as yourself. I always think of the saying “There’s only so much to go around” when I can’t decide whether to get an item or not.

Here are my first initial picks from my first day of shopping in the store:

Jeans – there are quite a few to pick from. My favorites are these Rag & Bone/Jean pair and the AG pair.

Tops –  You definitely want to grab this BlankNYC faux leather jacket and this Trouve cold shoulder top. I also loved this vest and felt this sweater would be a good “go to” sweater to have around. The faux leather leggings in the picture below are these.

Wearing the Rag & Bone jeans

Active – I didn’t initially set out to pick items in a specific color scheme but seems like I had one in mind when I grabbed the items below.  Left to right they are (all Zella): leggings (stretchier then others so could maybe size down), tank, tank, top. I also liked this jacket except don’t love that it doesn’t have thumb holes.

If you’re looking for a good wrap dress, I tried this BCBG one on and loved it.

A few high end tops I liked were this Vince tee and this Autumn Cashmere sweater.

Shoes are always a hard one to narrow down because there are so many good choices! But, for heels I loved this Sam Edelman pair and this pair by Louise et Cie. For a sneaker/shoe I loved this pair by Cole Haan. BEYOND comfortable – like a sneaker but looks classier. Also, you can’t go wrong with the classic Adidas Stan Smith. And for booties this Via Spiga pair was a favorite of mine. Oh, if you don’t have an open toe bootie yet try this pair by Toms.

I am running out of steam for the night to highlight more items so I’ll try to do another post over the weekend with handbags, the lingerie/lounge department, and more.

Happy shopping!
