I had some fun with some tops from Target recently. I hadn’t looked around in the clothing department in awhile and was a little short on time but a bunch caught my eye. So I did what every other busy person does – grab what I like and try it on at home.
I even motivated myself to try on the tops and make them into real outfits to see if I truly liked them and would wear them. Full disclosure: This try on session occurred in the later evening after I had taken a shower and therefore, had ZERO make up on and no accessories.
First up was this black and white (they call it gray) knit tank from Mossimo ($17.99, wearing XS). It is a great material heading into Fall and the colors of it are perfect as well. I personally don’t like side splits, but the tank was comfortable and fit well and could definitely be worn multiple ways (see pics below). I am wearing it with these adorable red wedges from Sole Society (mine are last Fall, here’s latest version).
Tried it on here with black heels and this Blanknyc Jacket.
Then, I tried this white peplum blouse by Mossimo ($22.99, wearing XS). Pretty sure you’ll agree it isn’t a good look on me. I think it’s the sleeves. . The peplum cut was pretty and the material was soft and smooth but also, clearly wrinkles easily. It does come in a bunch of other colors, too. My shoes, by the way, are pink flats by Sam Edelman I bought during the Nordstrom Anniversary sale. You can still find them here.
So the photo here of this Mossimo tank ($17.99, wearing XS) isn’t great. Sorry! But, I really liked it! The cut out detail around the V Neck is a faux leather so it adds some interesting detail to an otherwise boring tank. Plus, it’s comfortable and loose and also comes in an olive green.
Wearing it loose and the same Blanknyc jacket as in the photo above.
Last was the reddish tank (they call it purple) by Knox Rose ($17.99/ wearing XS). I love this color for Fall and the cut-out’s at the neck are a fun detail. It fits similar to the others I’ve tried on here, also soft and loose and comes in 2 other colors. I wasn’t familiar with this brand, by the way, but looking around I see there are quite a few tops I really like by it!
Here’s me wearing it untucked and with Sam Edelman heels, also bought during the Nordstrom Anniversary sale.
Hope this post gives you some ideas for how Target has some really great tops for an evening out or however you want to dress them up or down.
And…..I plan to be done with all the “dressing room” type posts for a bit. I’m sure you’re tired of them because I know I am. Ha!
