If you’re like me and live in the Northeast, then September becomes a month of transition from summer into Fall. And the transition usually happens fast! We start off September and it’s still plenty hot. And then boom, by the end of September, it is much cooler. Don’t get me wrong – it’s a much welcome cool off! But it means finding the right tops that can get you through this time of the year either alone or with a sweater or jacket thrown over once it gets cooler.
While I was in the mode of preparing for Fall, I did a round up of tees and tops that would work well for going from early September until Winter officially kicks in (ok so maybe before then but you get the idea).

I bought the top from Banana Republic last week in the white version (while it was on sale!). The odd thing is the version I bought is a bit speckled, or space dye, and I don’t see that in the picture online and can’t find it anywhere else on the site. Anyway, it is the exact kind of top I know will come in handy when I need to look instantly polished.
I also bought the Madewell tee recently in black recently because the only other plain black tee I have from Splendid is starting to look a little bit worn. Also, from above, I own the T.La tee from Anthropologie (I bought it back in February in a heathered gray. It’s so comfy that it has become one of my favorites!) and the U-Neck tee from Everlane in white.
I bought and then returned the Left of Center tee from Anthropologie a month ago in navy. I really liked how different it was with the cut out’s in the shoulder but I ended up returning it because I decided in the end it was a bit too long in length for my petite height (I’m 5’1). Similar to that one is this one from Zara I recently came across.
